The Bachelor’s programme (120 credits) of the Department of Textile Design focuses on two main areas of specialty know-how - weaving and fabric printing, with specialisation on creating clothing and furniture fabrics.
Specialty subjects will introduce the student to designing unique textiles and industrial products, interior decoration principles, printing, dying and weaving techniques, knitting, felting, material studies, history of textile and applied arts, and ethnography. Specialty electives provide an opportunity to work on different projects and practice teamwork skills. Specialty study projects are supervised by textile design teachers, as well as interior decorators, designers, fashion designers, etc.
Cooperation projects and traineeships provide contact with the producers.
In addition to specialty classes, humanities and general art subjects, communication and the basics of design and business, etc. is taught.

The Master’s programme (80 credits) allows the artist and/or designer to continue with his or her education through textile design and interdisciplinary workshops and cooperation projects. The aim is to improve the understanding of the designer’s role and to develop specialty know-how.
