Material to Mind – prof Dominic Haag-Walthert open lecture

This Thursday, December 8th starting at 6 pm, the interior architecture department of the Estonian Academy of Arts is happy to invite students, professionals and everyone interested in materials to the lecture titled “Material to Mind” by professor Dominic Haag-Walthert, the head of the Interior Architecture department of Lucerne University. The lecture introduces the idea and the functionality behind the web-based platform „materialarchiv.ch“ and its integration in the teaching programs of the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Art. The lecture will be in English.

Prof. dominic Haag-Walthert studied Design and Interior Architecture at the Zurich University of the Arts and Architecture at ETH Zurich. In the year 2000 he established his own office HAAGWAGNER together with Heiner Wagner in Zurich. From 2008-09 he teaches as visiting lecturer at HEAD Genève and at Ecole d‘architecture Athénaeum in Lausanne. In 2008 he is involved in the formation of the Bachelor Progamme in Interior Architecture at Lucerne University of Applied Science and Art HSLU, where he researches and teaches since then. From 2016 on he is the head of the Department of Interior Architecture at HSLU. He is also author and publisher of divers publications on topics of Architecture and Interior Architecture. He is visiting Tallinn in connection with preparations for the next interior architecture symposium SISU.

NB! The next SISU symposium will take place from 7th to 8th June 2017 under the title “Naked Space” and will be organised in parallel at the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Art and Estonia, engaging Estonian and Swiss interior architecture students, theorists and practitioners.
