Estonian Academy of Arts has organised Urban Studies Days since 2004. This publication collects the proceedings of the fourth conference, organised in spring 2007 under the title “Research and Activism”. Topical papers discuss the links between urban analysis and alternative ways to infl uence cities and urban life. Detailed and well-illustrated examples valorise different European experiences. The keynote on neoliberalism and urban space was made by Dr. Volker Eick, based in Berlin.
