When thinking about the Nordic and Baltic countries, the first associations that come to mind might be trolls and Vikings, the midnight sun and the polar night, saunas and winter swimming, hygge and fika, Nokia and IKEA. Perhaps you have also heard of these countries’ excellent school systems and strong social welfare models? But what is behind these myths? 16 comic artists from all over the Nordic and Baltic countries created works that reflect their own unique perspectives on life in the region.

The Baltic comic magazine “š!”, issue 57 “Mythbústers” which includes all these works and is distributed worldwide, was published in connection to the exhibition.

As part of the exhibition, a comic drawing workshop for students will be held on Friday, September 4, at 2–4 pm, led by Emmi Valve. Participation is free, but places are limited. The workshop will be held in English and all students are welcome to participate. Register here.
