Collection

The EAA Museum’s collection contains examples of the most accomplished works created in different departments of the academy and its predecessors. The museum’s sub-collections were categorised according to departments and techniques in art. You will get an idea of the museum’s art collection at the EKA digital library, which, in addition to items currently owned by the academy, also presents works included in other museum’s collections and those in the possession of the artists themselves. The EAA Museum has joined the Estonian museum information system, MuIS, through which the entire museum’s collection will eventually be available online for public use. The collections are located in two larger facilities: the main building of EKA and the Storage Library (Hoiuraamatukogu) in Ülemiste. Currently and also in the future, lecturers at EKA will be able to use museum items as examples in their teaching work. With prior agreement, the museum’s collection can be used for scientific purposes. Also, works can be borrowed for exhibitions outside EKA.
