• Exhibiting rent-free 
• Mentorship of the gallerist and technical director
• Project communication
• Graphic design and printing of basic distribution materials (by the graphic design intern of the gallery)
• Help with installing and dismantling (4 days, 8 hours a day for the install of a long project, 2 days, 8 hours a day for the install short project and 2 hours for dismantling; NB! In the case of simultaneous projects, the technician is shared)
• Invigilating
• Presentation equipment (depending on availability in EKA equipment rental)
• The possibility to produce works in EKA workshops (under the supervision of workshop managers, during the opening hours of EKA)
• Opening photos and exhibition views (by the photography inter of the gallery)
• Transportation of artworks (within Tallinn, with the EKA van, during the opening hours of EKA)
• Fee*

* Each EKA Gallery and EKA Outdoor Gallery project that is not directly related to teaching, such as the Evaluation Marathon and the thesis festival TASE, has a fee fund, the exact distribution of which depends on the nature of the event and the number of participants. The size of the fee fund will be revealed at the end of the year preceding the project. If desired, EKA students can additionally receive credits for work within the project(s).

When making choices, we give preference to current and former students and staff of the Estonian Academy of Arts (in that order), but in the case of group exhibitions, the groups may also include persons not connected to EKA. We try to keep diversity in mind when selecting projects. We prefer projects that have been specifically made for EKA Gallery or which are shown for the first time. We favor projects that promote collaboration (between different curriculas). Generally, the entire gallery is not given over to solo exhibitions.

For the season of 2027/2028 (August 2027–August 2028), the EKA Gallery program will consist of 7 exhibition projects. In addition, the TASE graduation festival and two assessment marathons of the faculty of Fine Arts are held in the gallery. The average duration of exhibitions is 4-6 weeks including set-up and take-down. There are at least 3 exhibitions a year in the EKA Billboard Gallery, the duration of the projects is ideally at least 3 months. As a result of the open call, at least 5 exhibition projects and up to 3 short events are chosen to take place in the EKA Gallery and 2 projects in the EKA Billboard Gallery will be completed for the season of 2027/2028.

Yet again, the EKA Gallery competition awaits portfolios in addition to project proposals. We want to create opportunities for new collaborations and save participants’ time by avoiding a lot of preliminary work before being selected. Those who do not wish to apply with a specific project idea are also welcome to submit portfolios.
