Scholarships

This scholarship is for foreign students who wish to study at Estonian higher education institutions as degree or exchange students. The scholarship is administered by the Education and Youth Board.

Applications with all the required annexes must be submitted electronically. Application system opens one month before the deadline which is usually at the beginning of fall.

The rate of the scholarship for master’s studies is 350 euros per month.

Scholarships are paid for 12 months of the year to degree students, except for the last nominal academic year when the scholarship is paid for 10 months. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of 12 months at a time.

The aim of this scholarship is to support EKA bachelor’s degree graduates with outstanding academic results and professional qualifications to continue their studies tuition free in the following masters’s degree programmes:
1) Animation
2) Graphic Design
3) Interaction Design
4) Urban Studies

Students who are awarded this scholarship are exempt from tuition fees in full, meaning that they are not obliged to pay any tuition fees. They are only expected to cover the costs of materials, personal tools and other study-related costs necessary for studies.

Applying for the scholarship is simultaneous with submitting admission applications on SAIS.

Please note that this scholarship can be awarded to a student for a maximum of four (4) semesters. Students must complete the cumulative study load prescribed in the curriculum by the end of each semester, except for semesters when they are on exchange studies and/or internship abroad, and the following semester, for which the results are considered by the academy to be at least 15 ECTS as part of the completion of the curriculum. If the student does not complete the required study load, they will have the obligation to start paying tuition fees in the following semesters in accordance with the rules at the academy.

The purpose of the semester scholarship is to recognize and support students who achieve excellent academic results and complete the curriculum in full. Students may be eligible to apply for a semester scholarship starting from the second semester of their matriculation year, and twice per academic year from there onwards. The amount of the scholarship is 150 euros per month.
