Young Sculptor Award

The Young Sculptor Award is an annual exhibition format launched by the Installation and Sculpture Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts, the purpose of which is to highlight and recognize the professional activities of students. The exhibition focuses specifically on formal and spatial practices related to the field of contemporary art and on motivating students’ creative activities in this direction. The aim of the exhibition, which takes place in different places, is to present a selection of works completed by students over the past year, from which a jury of experts selects the most outstanding ones. Traditionally, the best ones are rewarded with a visit to one of the outstanding art events of the current year, be it the Biennale in Venice or Berlin, Documenta in Kassel or another important event of the art life.
