Study trips
Institute of Art History and Visual Culture bachelor’s degree students take two practical training trips each spring – one in Estonia, the other to a different country. During the practical training, students gain in-depth knowledge about the art and architectural history of a particular region or city. Students take part in preparing a travel guide and deliver presentations regarding the sites visited. In the master’s degree programme, study trips take a more specialized focus, visiting major exhibitions and events, museums and other art institutions in other countries.

 Practical training
The second-year BA students receive practical training in various Estonian art and architecture museums.
The MA programme’s practical trainings are tied to the student’s chosen area of specialization. Students in the Art History module receive practical training as editorial interns at an Estonian art, design or architectural publication. In the Museology module, the practical training involves carrying out an exhibition project at an art museum. In the Curatorial Studies module, the students receive practical training in exhibition installation and exhibition design issues, as well as in operating a gallery.
