EKA Campus

The location of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) on the edge of Kalamaja—next to the Baltic Station and offering views of government buildings, the Fish Port area, and Tallinn Bay—marks a new stage in the academy’s development.

In this new era, EKA is shaping a comprehensive, in-depth, and high-quality educational experience in which learning is organically integrated with creative research and professional practice. This supports both the creation of knowledge and its application in future professional and societal activities.

The academy’s development is characterized by increasing internationalization, the modernization of disciplines, and adaptation to the new physical environment.

EKA’s new campus serves as a hub where learning, research, creative work, and public space converge. The academy is open to the general public on a daily basis, thereby strengthening its role in shaping the city’s cultural, social, and spatial development. In this way, EKA unites education, creative activity, and societal dialogue into a cohesive whole.

EKA enters the new decade on a trajectory of growth—spanning spatial expansion, research activities, and entrepreneurial and international cooperation, all bolstered by rising interest from prospective students.

The EKA campus is taking shape in the area of Põhja puiestee 7 and Kotzebue Street, at the edge of the bastion belt. This includes the newly completed EKA White House, the Kotzebue 10 laboratory building,

the Kotzebue 4 building, and the Kotzebue 2 property, where a creative hub connecting communities is planned.

In addition, EKA has academic facilities at the Tamse Study Centre (a practical training base) and the Narva Art Residency (NART), which host internships, workshops, seminars, and other academic activities.

The EKA main building is open daily from 8:00 to 23:00.
