Today, EKA launched its intensive Estonian language and culture course for new international degree and Erasmus+ exchange students. Held for the 20th time, the course continues EKA’s long-standing tradition of helping international students settle into life in Estonia.
Organised by EKA’s International Office and coordinated by Senior Specialist Marilyn Riisimäe, the three-week course takes place before the start of the academic year and is taught by experienced Estonian language teachers. EKA student buddies also help organise and run the cultural programme, introducing the new students to Estonian culture, everyday life and their new study environment.
The course aims to help students reach A1 level in Estonian, giving them basic skills for everyday communication and an introduction to Estonian culture and life.
Supported by the Erasmus+ programme, the course is free of charge for participants. Over the past two decades, hundreds of international students from around the world have taken part.
