As of 5.03.2025, an extensive temporary construction has been completed at EKA Gallery. The building process began on February 19 and lasted a total of 2 weeks.
Galerist Kaisa Maasik comments: “EKA Gallery has been able to operate in the new building of the Estonian Academy of Arts for six years. With the completed construction in the gallery, we want to expand the conditions for displaying art here, enable different types of spaces inside the gallery and also give a chance to create divisions inside the space.
Thanks to the completed mezzanine, we gained additional floor, wall and storage space in the gallery. In addition, the upper floor acts as a smaller gallery inside the larger one, allowing us to host two exhibitions simultaneously at times. An end date as such has not been set at the moment, but if we feel that the structure isn’t serving its purpose, we can disassemble it and continue with exhibitions in the gallery’s former arrangement.”
The first exhibition on two levels, Karl Joonas Alamaa’s solo exhibition “Daily Play and Bread”, opens this Thursday, March 6. We warmly invite you!
