Kristjan Mändmaa appointed head of EKA’s Faculty of Design
Kristjan Mändmaa has been appointed interim dean of the Estonian Academy of Arts’ Faculty of Design. Mändmaa took over the role from Ruth-Helene Melioranski on August 29.
Kristjan Mändmaa is a graphic designer and book designer, former associate professor at the EKA Department of Graphic Design (2003–2011) and dean of the Faculty of Design (2016–2021). In addition to his main goal of leading and promoting the faculty, Mändmaa will also be looking for a permanent replacement for the position.
Mändmaa took over the role of dean from Ruth-Helene Melioranski, who has led the Faculty of Design since 2021. EKA would like to thank Ruth-Helene Melioranski, who has made a tremendous contribution to strengthening the ties between EKA and the business landscape through LAETUS. Ruth will continue to work at EKA as a researcher.
