From 7 to 11 September, the Estonian Academy of Arts hosted the Erasmus+ BIP course “The Side-Specific Non-Specificity of Printmaking”, bringing together students from EKA and partner institutions to work in Tallinn and Turba. Over the five-day programme, participants explored printmaking from experimental, conceptual and practice-based perspectives.
The programme included practical workshops, discussions and experimentation with natural materials and pigments, with the surrounding environment and local materials becoming an important part of the creative process.
From Tuesday to Friday, the participants worked in Turba, including at the MoMu Garden and the old Ellamaa power station. The BIP brought together students from the Estonian Academy of Arts, HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Vilnius Academy of Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. A total of 16 students participated, from bachelor’s level to doctoral studies.
