Hirohisa Koike’s photo exhibition “Nõmmegraphy”

The photo exhibition “Nõmmegraphy” by the EAA’s photo department lector Hirohisa Koike (Japan) will open on May 24 at 5pm at the Museum of Photography. Exhibition is on view until 09 July 2018.

“When I woke up in the morning and opened the curtains in my bedroom, a pure white world unfolded before my eyes.
On the 25th of October 2016, it snowed for the first time this season. I grabbed my small camera from the wooden shelf, opened the window and pressed the shutter button. From that day onwards I decided to record my days living in Nõmme (…)”

Hirohisa Koike (b. 1979) got a master degree in Imaging Arts and Sciences at Musashino Art University, Tokyo, and is currently a PhD student at Tallinn University, and also a lecturer at Estonian Academy of Arts.
Solo exhibitions: “Desiderium” (2015, Riga), “Retardance” (2011, Nantes, France), “minimissing” (2010, Vilnius).

The exhibition is supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
