From Oct 29th –31st, the 5th meeting of the Viscom North network – educators and researchers of the visual communication education network of CIRRUS – gathered at KHiO (Oslo Academy of Arts) with EKA’s Graphic Design department taking part and our teaching staff Rita Davis making a presentation of the department’s MA program.
This year’s meeting centered around the theme “Education in transition”. We are living in times of profound technological change and changes in media and publishing. In this year’s meeting, we discussed how we – as educators in visual communication – understand and position ourselves in relation to these transformations. Focusing on how we see recent developments in technology and media influencing our discipline and how we address these transformations in education – through both curricular content and pedagogical approaches.
