The Southeast Estonia Innovation Center opened the Suhvli discovery center dedicated to the former Võru furniture factory and the wood industry there. Next to the history of the region, furniture and material samples, a selection of chairs from the students of the EKA Faculties of Design and Architecture reflects the modern design concept. Most of them have been completed in the joint furniture studio of the 1st-year architecture and urban planning and interior architecture majors, which has been supervised since 2018 by Finnish designers Ilkka Suppanen and Yrjö Wiherheimo.

Authors of the chairs on display:

Lauri Hirvesaar, Markus Marks and Katrin Rekor from the Product Design department,

Kairi Mändla, Linda-Marie Zimmer, Mirjam Vaht, Madis Arp Keerd, Alis Mäesalu, Tuule Kangur and Carolyn Vilk from the Faculty of Architecture.

The exposition of the discovery center was created by BlueRay OÜ.

The leader of the project is KEIK, the Innovation Center of Southeast Estonia
