“Symptom” at EKA Gallery 06.10–29.10.2016

On Thursday, 6 October the EAA Gallery will be opening a new exhibition by four young jewellery artists, Hanna-Maria Vanaküla, Sofia Hallik, Merlin Meremaa and Daria Popolitova. The show titled “Symptom” explores sypmtoms and pathologies born within the innermost corners of the artists’ psyche.

The exhibition is open until 29 October, 2016.

Sofia Hallik is an innovative jewellery maker and PhD researcher at Estonian Academy of Arts. Sofia’s work, which has also been exhibited at international exhibitions, is best known for the perfect symmetry, tricky nature of the material, latest digital techniques and the use of a visually monochrome palette.

Merilin Meremaa is currently studying in the Master’s programme of the Estonian Academy of Arts’ Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department. She has exhibited both in Estonia and internationally.

Daria Popolitova is a jewellery artist and designer. She also works as a guest lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts and a museum pedagogue at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. In 2015 she founded the jewellery art studio Aur. In her work Daria Popolitova explores the dynamics of man and technology. She has exhibited both in Estonia and internationally.

Hanna-Maria Vanaküla s currently studying in the Master’s programme of the Estonian Academy of Arts’ Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department. She has exhibited both in Estonia and internationally.
