VENT Space residencies open call x 3

VENT Space team would like to invite artists to take part in the following residencies and collaborations:

-Physical Residency
-Digital Residency
-Writing Collaboration 

Please send all applications to email address ventspace@artun.ee by midnight (GMT+2) of January 30th.

The program starts on the 9th of February, and selected applicants will be notified by the 2nd of February.

1. Physical Residency

VENT Space invites applications from artists for week long residencies.

Selected artists will be given the opportunity to use VENT Space as a studio space and testing ground for new experimental work. This experience will be documented through the collaboration with one selected writer.

Interested applicants should submit the following as a single PDF to the email address  ventspace@artun.ee

Artist statement and bio (200 words max.)
Residency Proposal; please provide us with a background for your proposed residency project, details of what you plan to do during the residency, and a timeline for the week at VENT Space (500 words max.)
Up to 10 images of past work.

The application can be submitted in Estonian or English.

Given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, we are unable to accept proposals for collaborative practices.

2. Digital Residency 

VENT Space invites submissions for a digital residency. Selected artists will have full access to the VENT SPACE’s social media accounts as a platform to share digital work. This is not an invitation for an Instagram takeover; this residency invites artists who are interested in web-based presentation of artwork.

Interested applicants should submit the following as a single PDF – the application can be submitted in Estonian or English, and should consist of:

Artist statement and bio (200 words max.)
Residency Proposal; please provide us with a background for your proposed residency project, details of what you want to present on our Instagram account and any other social media platforms (eg. Facebook live), and a timeline for how this content would be presented (500 words max.)
Up to 10 images of past work.

Vent Space welcomes applications from all artists and are interested in collaborating both with Estonian and international artists.

3. Writing Collaboration

VENT Space invites applications from interested arts writers to collaborate with one of our resident artists (from both programs) to produce a text that reflects and or documents the experiences of the residency at VENT Space or the presentation of digital works as part of the digital residency.

Interested applicants should submit the following in Estonian or English to the email address ventspace@artun.ee

Personal statement and motivation letter outlining their interest in participating in this collaborative experience.
Up to 3 examples of past written work (this is not necessary and we welcome newcomers to writing).

Conversation with residency artists are to take place digitally so writers who are not based in Tallinn are warmly invited to participate. VENT Space invites selected writers to engage creatively and to make decisions on how their final text will read. Written outcomes should be submitted no later then one week after the collaborating artist’s residency ends. Selected writers are welcome to write in Estonian, Russian or English.
