On the 5th of October, the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) hosted a meeting to introduce the learning material “How to Turn Your Creative Practice into Research Activity”, developed as part of the Transform4Europe project. The material developed at EKA brings together creativity-activating and practice-based creative research methods, offering practical ways to apply creative research in teaching and learning.
The learning material is primarily aimed at master’s and doctoral students. It explores the nature of creative research and introduces methods that support students’ creative thinking and research processes, the creation and dissemination of knowledge, and the exploration of complex research questions through practice-based approaches. The feedback provided on the learning materials at the 5 October meeting will serve as a basis for further editing and development.
At the meeting, Jaana Päeva presented the background and content of the material, with Pille Epner providing support. The learning material was developed as part of the Transform4Europe project under EKA’s leadership. Its development drew on experiences shared through discussions within EKA as well as international roundtable discussions. The English-language learning material is intended to support teachers and students in understanding and applying creative research methods and to provide guidance on how to turn creative practice into research activity.
