In the spring semester of 2024/25 academic year, EKA is delighted to welcome 61 Erasmus+ exchange students from 23 different countries. This diverse and international student body contributes to EKA’s open and inclusive learning environment, where cultural exchange enriches the academic experience.
Countries Represented
This semester, EKA hosts exchange students from a wide geographical range, including countries across Europe and beyond. Among the represented nations are France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Bulgaria, Portugal, the Netherlands, Hungary, Norway, Ukraine, Finland, and Slovenia. Additionally, students have arrived from more distant locations such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Brazil, and Mexico. The largest student groups come from Germany (16 students) and France (8 students).
Distribution Across Faculties
The new exchange students have enrolled in three faculties:
- Faculty of Architecture – 19 students
- Faculty of Fine Arts – 12 students
- Faculty of Design – 30 students
All three faculties provide exchange students with the opportunity to engage in coursework while bringing fresh perspectives and international insights to their studies.
Semester Kickoff Events
To help new exchange students settle in, EKA buddy students organized several welcome events during the first weeks of the semester. One of the highlights was a snowshoeing trip to Mukri bog, introducing students to Estonia’s winter landscapes. The day concluded with a traditional sauna evening at Laukataguse Holiday Village, offering students a chance to relax and get to know each other in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
EKA remains committed to providing a safe, diverse, and supportive academic environment for all students, regardless of their background. Our international student community continues to grow, enhancing the university’s academic and cultural life while fostering cross-cultural learning and exchange.
