EKA Welcomes New Erasmus+ Exchange Students and Trainees

At the beginning of the spring semester, the Estonian Academy of Arts welcomed nearly 60 international exchange students and trainees, arriving from more than 20 countries and over 40 partner institutions worldwide.

The incoming students represent a wide range of study programmes, including architecture and urban studies, interior architecture, fine art, animation, photography, fashion, textiles, ceramics, glass, jewellery, as well as design disciplines, art history, visual culture, and cultural heritage. Most participants are Bachelor’s-level students, alongside Master’s and doctoral students, as well as professional trainees.

The new international students were welcomed at a coffee morning by the Rector of EKA, who highlighted the importance of the Erasmus+ programme in fostering the exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives, and encouraged students to actively engage in the academic and creative life of the academy.

During the event, the Rector, Prof Hilkka Hiiop also introduced the International Office team and reminded students that support is always close at hand at EKA. Referring to Estonia as a horizontal country, both literally and hierarchically, she emphasised that her door is always open and students are welcome to approach her in person.

EKA wishes all incoming Erasmus+ students an inspiring and rewarding semester in Tallinn.
