Colleagues and students from all EKA faculties, representatives of professional associations across different fields, people working in companies and public institutions involved in spatial development, and, of course, the wider cultural public with an interest in architecture, urban space and the built environment are all warmly invited to join us, listen and exchange ideas.

This year’s EKA Arh Conference focuses on one of the central questions facing architecture and urban development today: how do we move forward when starting from scratch is no longer a sensible or sustainable option? While there is an abundance of knowledge about climate change, resource constraints and the built environment, translating that knowledge into shared goals and action often proves difficult. Instead of asking “what comes next?”, the conference explores what can – and should – continue.
International speakers and researchers will address adaptation, reuse and spatial transformation at the scales of the city, the building and the material. The programme brings together perspectives from architecture, planning, construction and research to discuss how existing places, buildings and resources can support meaningful change, and how disconnected knowledge can develop into a shared understanding that guides long-term action.
