The 13th issue of the proceedings of the Faculty of Architecture “EKA Arh Conference 2024: Building Systems” has been published
The EKA Arh Conference is a biennial international peer-reviewed conference, which has been held as a satellite event of the Tallinn Architecture Biennale since 2019. The 10 October 2024 event turned its attention towards the systemic issues architects face in their practice and research.
The comprehensive conference “Building Systems” addressed ecological, digital and social systems, their role in planning, construction and design, and the need to find a balance between automation and standardisation and models that enable subjectivity and participation.
The latest edition “Proceedings 13/2025” compiles the papers presented at the conference and interviews with three keynote speakers. The keynote speakers’ presentations can be viewed via the links in the program page (p 6) of the digital version.
Previous conferences were “Space and Digital Reality” (2019), “Innovation and Digital Reality” (2022) and “Building Systems” (2024). Keynote speeches and presentations are published in the Proceedings of the EKA Faculty of Architecture.
2024 keynote speakers:
Urban Systems: Andres Sevtsuk, MIT
Building Systems: Fabio Gramazio, ETH
Material Systems: Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen, KADK
The proceedings can be purchased from the EKA Library and the Faculty of Architecture, and are freely available in digital form in the EKA repository.
