The Nominees for the 2026 Young Sculptor Price Have Been Announced

A total of 26 works by individual artists were submitted to the 2026 Young Sculptor Price competition organised by the Installation and Sculpture Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts. From these, the exhibition jury selected 14 works.

The nominees are Rover Indigo Bertels-Andréa, Thórey Halldórsdóttir, Denis Kudrjašov, Ivor Mikker, Daniil Musesovs, Elise Marie Olesk, Kertu Rannula, Lotta Karoliina Räsänen, Éric-Olivier Thériault, Kail Timusk, Lume Tuum, Elo Vahtrik, Ats-Anton Varustin, and Maria Wrang-Rasmussen.

Established in 2012, the Young Sculptor Price and the accompanying exhibition aim to highlight and recognise the professional practice of emerging artists working in sculpture and installation.

The recipient of the 2026 Young Sculptor Price will be announced at the exhibition opening on 6 March at ARS Project Space. The decision will be made by an independent five-member jury.

The competition was open to individual artists with a work completed in 2025, a further development of an existing work, or a new work currently in progress.

Previous recipients of the Young Sculptor Award include Hanna Piksarv, Sten Saarits, Anna Mari Liivrand, Johannes Valdma, Rosa Violetta Grötsch, Johannes Luik, Siim Elmers, Sarah Nõmm, Junny Yeung, Mara Kirchberg, Sandra Ernits, Kati Saarits, and Katariin Mudist.
