On the occasion of the beginning of the 75th academic year of architectural studies, the newspaper C400 was published, the voice of the faculty today.
With the publication C400 of the Faculty of Architecture of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, we cover all departments of the faculty – architecture and urban design, interior architecture, urbanism. Disciplines that deal with different scales and methodologies strive for the same goal – better space. The publication brings together the wide field of activity resulting from the versatility of architecture – science, practice, architectural studies and educational self-expression after university.
The title of the newspaper C400 comes from the name of the student home studio in the new building of EKA, opened in 2018. The C-wing on the fourth floor is a space where today’s generation of architects, planners, interior architects and urbanists come from. The C400 publication reflects the work of the faculty and celebrates recent professional events, our people and current topics in interior architecture, architecture and urbanism.
The newspaper contains 10 interviews – 10 conversations at the jubilee’s 75th birthday party. The themes that ran through the evening were the changing role and perspective of a specialist in the field of architecture, non-academic spatial practices and the principles of preserving one’s inner student. The newspaper is aimed at architecture enthusiasts, potential and current students and alumni of the Faculty of Architecture, spatial design specialists, lecturers, and supporters of architectural education and the profession.
