Markus Puidak and Ulla Alla

Ulla Alla and Markus Puidak, MA students of EKA’s Architecture and Urban Design, received two of the four scholarships awarded in the Riigi Kinnisvara (the State Real Estate) scholarship competition “Tuleviku tipud” (Tops of the Future).

The question posed by Ulla Alla’s master’s thesis provided a fresh approach to the current functioning of the Estonian construction sector and the future outlook. There is a great deal of research potential on the topic, for example in the study of a building stock in a specific area or type of building. The scholarship candidate justified the importance of the topic from the point of view of the Estonian building stock as a whole. Scholarship: 2000 euros.

With the research question, Markus Puidak pointed out the desire to make construction developments more sustainable. Both the state houses and the symbolic buildings of the county centers fit well into the context of the topic of the master’s thesis, the development of which must take into account constant modernity and changes. Scholarship: 2000 euros.
