Updating the Grand Tour – Erasmus+ research project

Updating the Grand Tour

Our department is part of a 3-year-long
Erasmus+ Cooperation partnership called the ‘UpGranT – Updating the Grand Tour. Memory and Invention of the European Built Environment’, funded by the European Union (2023-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000158377), in the amount of 400 000 euros, under the Erasmus+ action KA220 – HE (Cooperation between organizations and institutions – Higher Education).

Instead of looking at the original tradition from the 18th century, this project emphases on the current world and looks how study trips have shaped European architecture and architectural thought. Partners from Estonia, Latvia, Greece, Italy and Portugal will host colleagues throughout the ext three years. The project will finish with a book and exhibition.
