Maroš Krivý at the Third Ecology meeting in Reykjavík

Reykjavík, 11-13 October

Maroš Krivý (Professor of Urban Studies) presented at the conference “Third Ecology,” organized by the European Architectural History Network (EAHN), in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in NY and the Icelandic University of Arts.

His paper “Fresh Kills and the Making of an Ecological Thought Collective” discussed the political ecology of ecological urbanism through this iconic site. In a pedagogy workshop organized by the EAHN’s Architecture and Environment interest group on the sidelines of the conference, Krivý also introduced the Urban Studies program and developed the idea of unlearning urbanism.

The Reykjavík meeting saw the launch of the Contemporary History initiative by Helena Mattsson and Jennifer Mack (KTH Stockholm), with Krivý as a founding member.
