Book “Putting Ourselves in the Picture” Published

Within the framework of the research project ‘Fast Forward: Women in Photography’, a large project ‘Putting Ourselves In The Picture’ has been completed, the outputs of which can be a great source for EKA students as well.

The project was funded through Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Engagement Fellowship by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, part of the UK Research Initiative.

The outcomes are a book, published by Trolley Books, edited by Maria Kapajeva (Phd candidate at EKA) and Professor Anna Fox (UCA, UK) about collaborative projects with refugee and migrant women and non-binary people.

A series of podcasts and a series of short films and interviews with project participants, which all can be found on Fast Forward website.

Fast Forward is a research project concerned with women in photography based at University for the Creative Arts. Started in 2014 with a panel discussion at Tate Modern, the project has established a significance within the world of photography for highlighting the work of women photographers and for questioning the way that the established canons have been formed.
